Dr. Paul Gordon Brown is a scholar, consultant and speaker specializing residential curriculum and curricular approaches, and in student learning and development’s intersection with technology, social media and design. Paul as nearly 20 years of professional experience in higher education and student affairs, both as a practitioner and as a faculty member. Paul’s current role is as the Director of Curriculum, Training, and Research for the higher education technology software company, Roompact.
Paul has been recognized multiple times by LinkedIn as a “Top Voice” in education, by SlideShare as a “Keynote Author,” by EdTech Magazine as a top higher education blogger, and by ACPA-College Student Educators International as a Diamond Honoree. Paul has authored and co-authored numerous books and book chapters including a collaboration with Erik Qualman on “What Happens On Campus Stays on YouTube.”
Fr. James Greenfield OSFS

Fr. Greenfield is the first alumnus of the DeSales University to serve as its president. His most recent assignment prior to assuming the presidency at De Sales was as provincial of the Wilmington- Philadelphia Province of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, leader of 145 priests, brothers, and seminarians who serve along the east coast. Working as provincial, he directed all human resource and development programs for the Oblates on matters of identity, mission, and trends of vocations, and religious life.
Previously, Fr. Greenfield was an adjunct lecturer at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., The Catholic University of America, and the former Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C., where he taught required courses in human development.
Fr. Greenfield serves on the board at Salesianum School, where he is chair, and Nativity Preparatory School, both in Wilmington, Del. He is also a trustee on the board of Father Judge High School and Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School, both in Philadelphia. In 2013, he was elected to a three-year term by the leaders of religious communities of men in the United States to serve as president of the Conference of Major Superiors of Men (CMSM), representing the nation’s 17,000 priests and brothers who are members of religious orders to the Vatican.
Fr. Greenfield earned his bachelor’s degree in politics (1984) at DeSales University, a master of divinity degree (1990) at the DeSales School of Theology, a master’s degree in counseling (1992) and a doctoral degree in human development (1998) at The George Washington University. He is also a certified pastoral counselor and author of a number of articles on religious life, life-long faith formation and the intersection of spirituality and human development.
Judith Spain, J.D, CCEP

Judith W. Spain is a tenured professor, an attorney licensed in NY, OH, PA, and KY, and a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional. She served as General Counsel and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Eastern Kentucky University and at Manhattanville College, where she developed and implemented compliance programs. Judy presently is the Compliance Collaborative Program Consultant with the Georgia Independent Colleges Association.
Judy has led and participated in Lean-In Circles at both institutions and is a national conference speaker on developing and nurturing this program. Judy is the author of the first book on higher education compliance, Higher Education Compliance: Blueprint for Success.
Special Agent Joseph F. Metzinger, FBI
Active Shooter Workshop; Monday 1:45PM to 3:45PM
Agent Metzinger is currently assigned to the FBI’s Philadelphia’s Domestic Terrorism Squad on the Joint Terrorism Task Force (“JTTF”). Prior to this assignment, Agent Metzinger was assigned to the FBI’s NYC Field Office until 2005 as part of the FBI/NYPD JTTF.
Metzinger is a career Domestic Terrorism Agent with collateral duties that include being the FBI Philadelphia Active Shooter Program Coordinator, Campus Liaison Agent, and Maritime Liaison Agent. As part of the JTTF, Agent Metzinger has worked in matters related to Infrastructure Protection, Domestic Terrorism/Threat Mitigation, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Bomb Threats, and Intelligence Collection. He has worked all of these matters jointly with local, state, and federal partners.
Agent Metzinger is a native of Philadelphia. He is a member of the FBI’s Adjunct Faculty Program and a Counterterrorism Instructor specializing in Domestic Terrorism. He is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Institute Graduate Program at SJU. He has developed the two Law Enforcement Intelligence courses for SJU’s On-Line Graduate Program.
Information Security: A Business View for Higher Education;

Walter Kerner is the Assistant Vice President and CISO for the Fashion institute of Technology. He has spent over 30 years in information technology, focused primarily on Infrastructure and Information Security. He has held leadership positions in a variety of industries including financial services, sports and media, e-commerce, and higher education, and has had the opportunity to understand the similarities and differences among IT practices in all these verticals. He has built Information Security programs from the ground up at many companies, and speaks frequently at industry and Higher Education conferences. Walter holds a BA degree from Binghamton University, and MBA from New York University, and a CISSP designation.
Jerry Montag, AACRAO VP for Leadership and Management Development
AACRAO Session, Developing Great(er) Relationships with Community Colleges; Tuesday, 3:30PM to 4:30PM
Born and raised in the Bronx, Jerry is proud to call himself a New Yorker. Of course he is a Yankees fan and received his undergraduate degree from Lehman College of the City University of New York and graduate degree from Columbia University. His wife is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana; thus, a marriage between the north and south. He is the proud father of twins who graduated DePaul University and Louisiana State University.
His experience in higher education and with AACRAO, SACRAO and other state regionals is extensive. He has lived Florida, Texas, Michigan and Illinois and worked at state, public, private and community colleges in the areas of Admissions, Enrollment Management and as University Registrar. He has been actively involved with AACRAO for over 30 years either on committees as a member, chair, doing presentations, and writing chapters in several AACRAO publications. He was also President of the Florida ACRAO and chaired the AACRAO annual meeting in Orlando in 1993.
Jerry is the Director/Registrar at Northern Illinois University and is the AACRAO Vice President for Leadership and Management Development.
